AMSA 72th Reciprocal Meat Conference

The first Meat Science Quiz Bowl Team in UC Davis History (From left to right: Linghuan Yang, Matthew Poon, Jared Hickory, Adia Magill, Toni Duarte (coach)). The team had the worst travel trip (flights got cancelled three time in two days) due to the bad weather condition in CO and arrived in Loveland at 3am on the day of the contest. They did a great job, survived three rounds in the quiz bowl competition.

Toni Duarte and Frederick Yang participated in the poster competition. Toni presented “Comparison of water chilling and air chilling on poultry shelf life” and was awarded 3rd place in M.S. division.

Karla Michelle Villatoro gave a presentation on “Survival of Acid Resistant Shiga Toxin-Producing Escherichia coli to organic and inorganic acids”, which has been one of six RMC Chairman Selected Abstracts out of 170+ abstracts.
